| Bars are found everywhere in Chiang Mai but the most congested area is around Tapae Gate, along the Ping River and the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. The Night Bazaar keeps the town busy with late shopping and eating. There are also plenty of Thai cultural performances. At the Galare Center, a free display of Thai folklore dancing and music are on offer. There is also a wide collection of beer gardens, coffee houses, bars, pubs and restaurants at the intersection of Loi Kroh and Chang Klan Roads. Travelers can stop for a drink or sample some inexpensive Thai, Chinese and Indian food from food stalls that line the street. North of Chang Klan, there is a small district known for its informal bars and nightclubs, many of them cater to specific nationalities as well. |
